Lund Society for Nature Conservation (LNF) is a lively and active environmental organization which welcomes both newcomers and returning members. We have more than 4000 members in Lund. Despite the size of the organization, we manage to do without any paid staff, relying wholly on voluntary work both in our board and our working groups.

We particularly look forward to meeting those of you who are new arrivals in our country and don’t speak Swedish. We are always very happy to speak English whenever needed.  Please feel free to phone or email for more information. Please note, however, that since LNF has no office and no paid staff we cannot take on any interns or trainees.

Our aim is to spread knowledge about nature and environmental issues. We do this by organizing a series of events which are published in our twice annual printed program as well as on this web site. Throughout the year we organize cycle trips, hikes, excursions and events in and around the Lund area. In March every year we organize a series of public lecture on topics relating to climate change, such as food, consumption, transportation and energy use.

In order to help shape public opinion and take an active part in the political decision making process we study and comment on potential plans for development which might affect the environment both locally and globally. We also run groups studying a wide range of subjects.

Lund’s Society for Nature Conservation is the local Lund branch of the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation, which has existed for more than 100 years. The local branch is run entirely by volunteers on a nonprofit basis. It has no religious or political affiliation.
